I do keep a box around for making hot chocolate (homemade is cheaper than packets) and for cooking/baking when I am running low and trying to stretch for another grocery run. But, for example, at Aldi, powdered milk comes out to the same price ($5.99 for 2 gal.) as fresh milk. And I think it is easier to spill the powder and waste it than it is to spill the milk. My grandpa is a landlord of an apartment house and told me to get it. He said a past tenant had a large kitchen fire and lost most of his stuff.
