Wow! I simply cannot believe that we are already to 900 ways to save! Its amazing all that I’ve discovered thus far, and I hope you all have learned a lot too! Today my post will be collection of all types of fun tips!
If you’ve missed the first 8 days of the series, click on the links below!
801.”One man pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.” Prov. 13:7. I came across this verse today in my reading, and it completely struck me. This completely defines middle class America! There are those who “pretend to be rich” buying homes, cars, boats, tvs, jewelry that they cannot afford! They pay for it with debt and therefore, have nothing!! In fact they have less than nothing, they have a negative balance=debt! Then there’s that other guy who pretends to be poor, only buying what he truly needs, living simply, small house, old beater of a car, lives frugally, and makes half a million a year! This Proverb is just as true today as it was years and years and years ago when it was written and it serves as a strong reminder of who truly has the greater delight in their life.
Concerning household saving tips…
802. Unwrap new soap, store it in your linens! This will make your linens smell awesome and harden the soap– lengthening its life.
803. Keep the lids on your jar candles! This tip comes from my best friend Whit! She says that she only has to open the lid to fill the room with great scent! This is a great idea and I will try to do this more often!
804. Reuse the bags TP, paper towels, and diapers come in! This tip comes from Suzanne! She says it may sound cheap, but they work as garbage can liners! I think its a great idea!
805. Call to see if your local dump offers free fire word or mulch! Can’t beat free!
806. Turn your cell phone off as you charge it! It’ll charge faster therefore using less energy.
807. Freeze your eggs! From what I’ve read, if you crack open your eggs, beat them, and freeze them, you’ll be able to extend their life by months! If you have access to a farmer’s market in the summer and want to make those great eggs at that great price last all year, this would be the way to do it!
808. Got furniture that pokes into your linoleum floor? I did! I was going to buy those little felt footie things for my kitchen table when I realized I could probably make my own! I used pieces of cork, as that is what I had. Cut them to size and stuck them under the feet of the table. Problem solved! (A couple of layers of good felt would have worked to!)
809. Pull bananas apart from eachother after you buy them! This will slow the ripening process!
810. Store cheese in foil! This keeps the foil from spoiling longer.
811. Another way to remove greaser stains! Sprinkle talcum powder over the stain. Place brown paper over the area. Use a medium warm iron and iron over the spot. The spot should lift!
812. Got a rug that slides around on your floor? Use the rubbery inserts of jam jars to stick in place! Place one under each corner, more if needed. It should stay in place!
813. Realized you forgot to put something in an envelope after you sealed it? Don’t rip it open and waste an envelope! Put it in the freezer for an hour or two and the seal will lift and you will still be able to reseal it! I learned this from busybodies anonymous! Just kidding.
814. Got ants? Use cornmeal! They’ll eat it all up, and because they can’t digest it, it kills them!
815. Got squirrels? Sprinkle cayenne pepper on the plants your squirrel friends are attacking. This should solve the problem without harming your plants!
816. Got mosquitoes? Frugal bug repellent! Stick a dryer sheet in your pocket! I’m not sure how this works, but according to what I read, it works!
817. Whip up your store bought frosting in your mixer! This doubles the size and cuts the calories per cupcake! I personally LOVE whipped frosting. I would buy that kind on purpose! Now I know how to make my own!
818. Beef up boxed brownie mixes! I sometimes can purchase brownie mixes for free or almost free with coupons. I think sometimes, the brownies taste like they are lacking something. Here are some things I love to add to beef up my brownie mix. Chocolate chips of any kind and flavor, andes mints, peanut butter cups all chopped up, any other chocolates you have lying around the house chopped up! Mmmmm! Good stuff! No one will ever know its a box!
819. Call your county tax board to find out if you can get your property taxes decreased. With all that is happening in the housing market, property values are decreasing. This may affect your property taxes! Click HERE to read one dad’s story on how he saved $1500 doing this!
820. Use the hillbillyhousewife.com! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this resource before! She has a menu you can use to feed a family of four for a week for just $45! And that’s assuming that your kitchen is already empty. I find this so helpful as I’m only starting my journey into cooking from scratch and I don’t necessarily have all the ingredients a lot of the cheap weekly menus I’ve read suggest. This is great! Click HERE to see the menu!
821. Shave with conditioner. You’ll have to forgive me if I’ve used this tip already. I looked back through stuff quickly, and didn’t see it, but if I’ve used it already, I’m sorry.
Shaving with conditioner works well and can often be a cheaper alternative to shaving creams.
822. Costtodrive.com! This site is another great resource. I calculated the cost of my husband driving to seminary and back each week, there and back costs $1.76/wk! That’s about $7 a month. (I hate gas.) This resource may be helpful in helping you realize how much certain trips cost and help you cut down on unnecessary gas usage.
823. Turn your car off at red lights! I would be scared to do this as I have a fear that I wouldn’t be able to get going again fast enough, but it may be worth a shot! I’ve also turned mine off at long train crossings. Idling is terrible for gas mileage.
824. Evaluate your money pit purchases. This concept is interesting to me. These are purchases that you make that cause you to have to spend more money. For example, when I was in high school and I got my nails done each week, I had to keep paying to get them filled and redone. Another money pit, printers! You buy the printer, but keep having to buy ink! Check out this post HERE about more money pits and what to do about them.
825. Free College! I just about fell out of my seat when I read this post! The author of this blog found 5 colleges in the nation that are free. No joke. I wish I had known about this back in the day! Well now I know where my kids will go someday! Click HERE to read the post!
826. Need a little extra cash? Donate blood! I have a friend who did this to pay for a bridesmaid dress she had to buy! Again, I’m too scared to do this, but I’ve heard it can bring in as much as $50/month!
827. Make your own salsa! With Pace being about $3.50 for a medium sized bottle, I’d be open to this. I found a site that has 30 salsa recipes! Mmmm… Click HERE!
828. Understand the cost of depreciation/e-Bay. I read this post HERE about a hidden benefit of selling on eBay and I felt like the author made a great point! When we go to sell our old stuff, we know how much we paid, and its hard to realize that that $80 handbag just sold for $5! That’s life! And its good to remember that things are just cheaper second hand, period. The post is excellent and also has some links for great tips on selling stuff on Ebay.
829. Preparing for a baby? Even if you’re not, taking inventory of your needs/tracking what you’ve spent is a great idea! Kacie over at Sense to Save is a blogger that I really admire. She is young married and expecting her first baby! I love how ridiculously anal she is– like me! She has made some impressive spread sheets that track her expenses for her baby. Click HERE to see the details. She also has a spread sheet where she’s kept track of all the baby clothes she has at all the different sizes! Its awesome! Even if you aren’t preparing for a little one, you can try to implement aspects of what Kacie is doing. Nate and I did this last night actually! We went through Nate’s closet and purged all the stuff that he really shouldn’t be wearing anymore due to size, style, or wear and tear. We then made a list of all the things we are going to need to look for on sales/second hand to replace things in his wardrobe. My list was much smaller, and I only had one item to purge as I’ve recently purged my closet, but it sure felt good! We know now exactly what to look for and in what sizes!
830. The joy of lending… clothing. I hate letting my younger sister borrow stuff– because I never know when I’ll see it again! But I heard from a friend who does clothes sharing with another mom that it can save a lot of money! Her friend had a boy a year before her oldest boy was born. Her friend lent her a huge box of clothes, but requested them back so she could use them when her next baby came along. They ended up passing clothes back and forth with 5 kids between the two of them! It was so wise of these moms to do that! They saved each other so much money!
831. Use the heat from your appliances! In the winter if you’ve baked or dried a load of laundry, open up the doors to let the heat out into the house.
832. Run loads in the dryer continuously! Or bake one thing after the other too! You won’t waste energy having to let the appliances reheat themselves later.
833. Keep food warm! Waiting for Billy to come home from soccer practice? Keep his dinner warm by just sticking it in the oven after you’ve turned it off! You won’t need to keep the oven on warm. If the door is closed, you’ll be good to go.
834. Get a free reusable grocery sack for telling the presidential candidates you care about the planet! imommies.com has the scoop! Click HERE for more!
835. Do you need to rearrange furniture for winter heating? Walk through your house to make sure none of your furniture is blocking your heat from flowing in your home.
836. One great reason to switch to a laptop! They use far less energy than a pc!
837. Hey coffee drinkers! Did you know there were such things as reusable coffee filters? Well, there are! And apparently, they can be washed and reused. Never buy filters again!
838. If you do use tossable filters, reuse them for kid artwork! These make great surfaces for painting on, and have a fun texture to paint with. Wad up into a fun shape for a cool “sponge painting” activity. Also, you could use them as tissue paper substitutes for crafts!
839. New Wal-Mart samples! Free shopping list note pad and a free feminine pad! Nice! Click HERE for more!
840. A good use for credit cards and store cards! Scrape the gunk off your pans!
841. Working on your home management binder? I found some free printables you may want to use! Click HERE to access the printables!
842. Use larger cookie sheets! Get the biggest cookie sheet you can that will still fit in your oven! You can bake more cookies at once, bigger batches means less time that the oven is on!
843. Save the juice from canned fruits! Water down and use for juice for your little ones, or use to baste a ham!
844. Store popcorn in the freezer! This is a new one for me! Apparently, it keeps your popcorn fresh and prevents old maids! I’m tryin’ this one!
845. Buttermilk substitute. I’ve been using buttermilk a lot in baking, and I don’t always have it on hand. Not wanting to waste gas and run to the store, I found this little tid-bit on tipnut.com:
Buttermilk Substitute: You can substitute 1 cup of buttermilk with the following quick recipe–In a one cup measuring cup, add 1 TBS of vinegar or lemon juice, then top up the rest of the measuring cup with milk. Set aside for 5 minutes, stir, then use as buttermilk in the recipe.
846. Out of baking powder? Use 1/4 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter for one tsp. of baking powder!
847. Clean your rugs the old fashioned way! Shake them/beat them outdoors! Hey! That’s less vacuuming required!
848. Unplug your curling/flattening iron as soon as your done with it!
849. Remove gum from clothes! This can be devastating if it gets all over a load of laundry! If you pour boiling vinegar over the gum, it will dissolve! You may want to wash again after that.
Getting crafty! By the way, a lot of today’s craft tips would make great frugal gifts!
850. Make a bath rug out of an old towel! This is just too cool!I found this great tutorial and I’m thinking I must try this! Click HERE to read more!
851. Make sachets from damaged vintage table cloths! I have one of these table cloths, its lovely, but damaged and I’ve been wondering what I could do with it. I found this tutorial, and the sachets are adorable! These would make wonderful gifts for Mother’s Day! Click HERE for more!
852. Got a lot of wine corks? Turn them into a trivet! Another great gift idea! This post has a great diagram and how-to!
853. Another fun way to make a rag rug– old t-shirts! I love this! I have a ton of old t-shirts that I purged from Nate’s closet. This would work! Click HERE!
854. Make a drawstring bag out of a t-shirt! Click HERE for more!
855. Way to reuse old blue jeans #1: Make a denim quilt! These are great for new moms! Use a soft backing for the quilt, and the mom will have a blanket that’s perfect for laying on the floor or ground for the little one!
856. Reuse old denim for wrapping gifts! Great for a masculine look! Just hot glue to a shoe box!
857. Make a message board with denim! Click HERE for a how-to! You will need a basic cork board for this. I have used two pieces of foam board, glued them together, and then wrapped fabric around the board for a frugal craft before. If you don’t have a cork board, that may be a better (cheaper) option.
858. Use pieces of denim as patches for your current jeans! Whether you attach them to the inside of your child’s knees to reinforce the knees or to the heels of your husbands jeans to reinforce his jeans, or just to cover up existing holes so your yard work jeans don’t have inappropriate holes, it’s a good idea to keep patches handy.
859. Make scrapbook embellishments! I did this and the one I made turned out so cute! I used a small piece and cut it into the shape of a heart. I used leftover thread from a cross stitch and sewed around the edges of the heart. Then I gently pulled loose threads on the end to give it a frayed look. It will look adorable on the pumpkin patch page I will make for my scrapbook!
860. Make a reusable lunch sack out of denim! This sample is decorated for a child, but truly this could be adjusted to any style! Click here for pictures and directions!
861. Make a dog jean jacket! My mom would love this for her little lap dog! Here’s what I read on recyclethis.com:
If you know how to sew, you can make a quick jacket for a small dog/large cat. Cut the leg to the length of the pet, from the neck up to its tailbone. Add elastic to the narrow end of the jean (that would be the hole for the head). Now cut 2 holes on the bottom, (you can use another sweater for measurements) for the front legs, and cut the bottom part in a U shape. By having a drawer full of these, my pooch can put on a fresh sweater every day during the winter!
862. Make a denim pencil case out of the zipper area!
863. Make denim coasters! Just cut them into squares!
Enough with the denim!
864. 31 days of nothing craft supplies addition! Nathan and I took the 31 days of nothing challenge last month, and I started hang drying our laundry, reusing Ziplocks, and my cook from scratch weekends! I was thinking that this would be an incredible challenge if applied specifically to crafting. If you’re anything like me, you have a growing pile of craft supplies you bought with the intention of completing a certain project! Wouldn’t it be an incredible crafting experience if you challenged yourself to not buy ANY craft supplies for a month and just to use what you already have during that time? I almost feel that I should challenge myself to not buy any craft supplies until the end of the year! I have so much and I really think I could make it! I have so much Christmas stuff to work with, and I have everything I need to finish my summer vacation project! I think it would do amazing things for my creativity too! Hmmm…. this is something I need to think about!
865. Buy bulk paper with a friend! I often see those incredible large paper packs at Michaels and my local craft warehouse. Even if they are on sale for $15-20, that’s a lot of money for paper in my book! Especially if I don’t love all the paper in the pack. What if you and a friend went in and purchased a large pack and then split the paper? You could each pick the ones you love and split the rest!
866. Use tile samples to make mini-books! There were a ton of tile samples donated to the school I work at. We used them for all sorts of craft projects and what not. I found a fun way to use them in my craft room, mini-books! They are very mini! I used scraps to cover each side of the tiles and then used a nail file to file off the edges of the paper. I then printed some wallet sized photos from my computer and cropped them to fit. I made an album for my sister with a word that described her for each letter of her name, and then the facing side was a picture that displayed that characteristic. I tied all the tiles together with coordinating ribbon scraps and had an adorable min-book! I wish I had a picture to show you, I already gave it to her!
Decorating Cents! (I borrowed this from the HGTV show, I’m not that clever.
)
867. Group similar items together in groups of odd numbers. This is the simplest way to draw interest and it is very pleasing to the eye.
868. Use angles. When setting out picture frames or decor, it is more pleasing to the eye to place something at an angle.
869. Decorate with the stuff you need to use everyday! Here’s what I do with my necklaces! This keeps them from tangling, plus they look pretty in my bathroom! My college roomie put hers on a banana holder and it looked fun too!
Holiday Savings Tips…
870. Got a lot of brothers, sisters, nieces/nephews? Pile them all together by purchasing a family gift! A game or family dvd would be a great gift! Fred Meyer often has B1G1 sales on games closer to the holidays!
871. Host a cookie exchange! You only need to bake one type of cookie, just 3-4 dozen. This should simplify the supplies you need. Have some of your lady friends come over and exchange their cookies with you. You could walk away having made fudge and come home with sugar cookies, gingerbread and lemon bars!
872. Make a Christmas CD! My sister and her husband did this last year, and I hope they do it again! They are incredibly talented and recorded themselves singing 2 Christmas hymns. Breathtaking! Priceless! They have access to a free recording studio on our college campus. Not everyone has that opportunity. But, you can always make cds of your favorites Christmas songs, or Christmas songs that hold meaning for your family. For me, “Some Children See Him” will always be one of my favorites because of my experience in Haiti and it is also my Grandmother’s favorite. My best friend and I have a special connection with “Breath of Heaven!” By Amy Grant! (I know you’re laughing reading this Whit!) Infact, Whitney made me a special friendship Christmas album– which I LOVE! Oh and by the way, its not too early to listen to music already! (I’m doing it right now!)
873. Apples to Apples! Have you played this game? If you haven’t click HERE and scroll down to read the product features. I have a friend who made a family version of this game! She just cut cards out of colored cardstock, wrote categories, and then cut more cards out of white cardstock. On these she wrote the topics. She used family vacation spots, inside family jokes, family members names, celebrities and places that held meaning to members of the family and gave it to her parents as their gift! They LOVED it!
874. Make your own cranberry sauce! I personally happen to be a sucker for the canned stuff at the store! But to make it, all you need is cranberries and sugar. That’s it! Click HERE for the how-to!
875. Christmas Casserole! My mom makes this every year and I almost look forward to this more than the actual Christmas dinner! My mom takes the leftovers and layers them in a casserole dish. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, turkey, and gravy! Oh it is so good!
876. One more frugal centerpiece! Take a low/flatter bowl or dish. Fill it with water and float cranberries in it! You could add a poinsettia flower head or a floating candle too! (Both available at the Dollar Tree!) A little glitter would be pretty!
*Side note, went to the Dollar Tree two days ago and that place is packed with CUTE, not tacky, Christmas stuff! Talk about cheap ornaments!
877. A Christmas flannel board! Take a small scrap of plywood. Wrap it in batting and staple to the back. Wrap over the batting some flannel fabric! (You may be able to repurpose an old sheet, robe or pair of pjs!) You can print characters from the internet, have your kids draw them, cut them from felt or more flannel, the sky is the limit!
878. Newly weds, fill your tree slowly! My husband and I have made a tradition out of buying an ornament each year around our anniversary. We have also bought a set of silver balls for $2 at Walmart. Everything else was handed down or gifted to us. And I gotta tell ya! I have a good looking tree! Its sad when newly weds rush out and buy tons of ornaments all at once! You don’t have a story to tell when you hang them up!
879. A beautiful tradition. Each year from birth until age 18, my grandma purchases ornaments for each grandchild. Each grandchild has a theme. For example, my theme is lambs, my sister Lizzy’s is angles. My cousin’s is nativity. My brother’s, santa! When I moved out, I took 18 ornaments with me! It’s like a hope chest for Christmas!
Frugal bridal/baby shower ideas!
880. When throwing any type of shower, purchase decorations that the guest of honor can use in their home! That can then be your gift to them! For example, for my bridal shower, my friend Whitney bought cloth napkins that she placed under small vases on the tables for my bridal shower. I got to take the cloth napkins with me! I’m still using them! For a baby shower, make a diaper cake and then the mom can take the diapers!
881. Play games that don’t require you to purchase anything! Purse hunts are good, word scrambles are good! I once had a Price is Right game at my sister’s shower. I had a bunch of household goods out on a table. I showed the guest two prices and they had to guess the correct one. The one who guessed the most correctly won! It was way fun!
882. Frugal refreshment idea #1! For my sister’s bridal shower, I made cupcakes out of a mix I purchased with coupons! Her colors were soft yellow and cream. I bought fake flowers at the Dollar Tree, pulled the flowers off and placed them on top of the cupcakes! (After I frosted of course!) I used a three tiered cake plate my mom had to stack them on, they looked super cute! Total cost…. $6!
883. Frugal refreshment idea #2! My shower was in the middle of a heat wave! My friend who was hosting bought a large tub of Vanilla/raspberry ice cream! She then garnished the ice cream with two little dark chocolate raspberry sticks. Mmmm… it was good and very pretty! Total cost… $7-8!
884. Fondue it up! If you have one of those fondue things, I don’t, but if you do, use it! Have marshmallows on a stick, pineapples on a stick, strawberries on a stick, pretzels… you name it! We did this for my roomie’s bridal shower and it was very affordable. Each bridesmaid brought one thing that could be “fondued” and one of use brought the chocolate as well. Split between us, I spent $2!
885. Frugal punch ideas! My mom is the master of this! Freeze berries, lemon peels, or orange peels in ice cubes and let them sit on top. Any flavor sorbet in any kind of 7 Up type soda and you are set!! (I try to match the colors of the wedding.)
886. Frugal prizes! I hit up the dollar sections of Target, Michaels and the Dollar Tree for prizes when I host parties. I also raid my gift basket to see if there are any gifts that haven’t been assigned to anyone yet. I use those too! One idea I got from a friend was to put all the prizes in a large basket instead of gift wrapping each gift. That way you save time and money!
887. Another frugal prize for the crafty person! Make sets of gift cards to give as prizes! Sets of three tied nicely with a ribbon… that’s a great prize! If you’ve already got the supplies on hand, that’s FREE!
888. Bachelorette tips! I believe in fun and appropriate bachelorette celebrations! Once I made my own appropriate scavenger hunt with my scrapbook supplies for my roomie’s bachelorette party! It was cute, didn’t cost me anything but supplies I had on hand, and I didn’t have to worry about anything inappropriate being on there because I wrote it!
889. Have a Mary Kay bachelorette party! I did this for my sister! We all did our toe nails and gave her a pedicure and foot massage!
890. Have a time of prayer for the new bride or mom to be! This is the most memorable time from my bachelorette! Its powerful and so, so special! If you want to beef it up a bit, pass a candle to each person as the prayer is being said or share a blessing with the guest of honor! Have tissue on hand, this could get messy!
891. Playing a TP game? “Dress the bride” or “measure the moms tummy” games are common at showers and super fun! The frugal person in me just freaks out when all that totally usable TP is thrown out after the shower! Do yourself a favor and use it after the shower is over.
892. Great Bridal gift idea #1! Set your new bride up for frugal success! Purchase them a basic coupon organizer and have good coupons already in there for them! Couple that with a binder for their home management system with the basic dividers already in there and maybe a few more blank ones so the bride could personalize it. Add in some menu planning print outs, budgeting printouts, frugal menus and this would be an amazing gift! This would be appropriate for anytime/anyone as well!
893. Great Bridal gift idea #2: Pull a vase out of your cupboards that you feel that you can let go of. Go to the Dollar Tree and purchase 5-6 kitchen utensils that everyone needs. Spoons, ladles, spatulas… And then throw in a couple fake flowers as well! Tie a ribbon around the vase and you’ve got yourself a kitchen utensil bouquet any bride would love!
894. Great Bridal Gift Idea #3! Purchase the bride a couple empty spray bottles from the dollar tree and some of the ingredients she would need for making her own cleaners! Print out recipes for making your own cleaners and maybe some of your own personal cleaning tips and walah! A practical, thoughtful, and environmentally conscious gift!
895. Don’t forget the ribbons! Ribbons hold special meaning at both bridal and baby showers. At bridal showers, the bride has a practice bouquet made from the ribbons at her shower! At baby showers, how many ribbons the mom-to-be breaks is how many children she will have! (I’ve heard this celebrated at bridal showers as well.) So, skip the expensive gift bags and wrap it the old fashioned frugal way!
A few more general savings tips…
896. Use old coffee grounds as pest repellent in your garden!
897. Make coffee playdough from old grounds!
Coffee Playdough (mix the following, after play it can be stored in a zip-lock bag):
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 cup used coffee grounds
- 1/2 cup cool coffee (more or less depending on how wet/dry the grounds are)
898. Use that leftover pickle juice! Add it to your BBQ sauce to beef up the tangy flavor! You may use less BBQ sauce in the process!
899. A frugal praise report! Don’t give up when it comes to saving your money! My wedding ring had a prong on it that bent over! I’m glad I discovered it when I did! I would have been so sad if my diamond came out and was lost! We were praying for $40 or under! My hubbie went to the mall and the first jewelry store said it would cost $120! The next said $23… awesome! The next said, how about FREE! YEAH!!! It was Zales and the also polished it for me for free! They asked that we keep them in mind the next time we make a jewelry purchase. That’s the way you do business my friends!!! So, all of you out there, Zales is awesome. Fred Meyer jewelers were the ones that said it would cost $120. The guy at Zales is a gold smith and told Nate that that was a flat out lie. Hmm…. Needless to say I wrote a little e-mail to Freddies letting them know that they completely lost our business now and forever and that I’d spread the word.
It pays to keep persevering and doing all you can to save your family money!
900!! Who is your model? 10 trillion in debt? I read that the American debt is now up to $10 trillion bucks! Examine yourself, examine your heart, examine your bank statement. Who are you modeling yourself after, your country’s leaders? I certainly hope not. The truth is that Christ Jesus is our model. Did you know that He talked about money more than any other subject? He knew/knows the battles that we face on this fallen earth when it comes to money… it stinks and it so often pulls us away from Jesus! Or rather, we allow ourselves to be pulled away from Jesus with money. Jesus was a simple carpentar by trade. He knew the value of making do with what you have, (remember the fish and bread miracle?) He knew the pain of sacrifice more than any of us will ever know.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Heb. 12:2
Whew! Just 100 left! It took me a lot of hours to find the 100 tips for this post! I’m working on it and will hopefully have it ready by Thursday! Let me know what you think about these and leave any other tips ideas you have in the comment section!
Thanks and God bless!

Pickle Juice use #2: keep it and when making tuna, add juice to plain tuna (or w/ mayo) it gets the pickle flavor and saves money!
we got our rings at fred meyers and we included reminders for ‘free’ cleaning (it was a one time fee of maybe $40 that would last for 3 yrs) and they would send us a card letting us know when to come in. well they never sent it and therefore they wanted to charge us to clean them! lame!! we paid for it!! OH WELL..Hillary worked at harrisons for awhile so she would clean them for us for free

Thanks so much for the mention! This is a great list of tips – you’ve obviously put a lot of work into it and I plan to spend some time going through it. I’m particularly interesting in #814, cornmeal for ants. I’ve had a lot of problems with ants getting into my cats’ food bowls, but can’t put down any poisonous substances because of the cats. I’ll give the cornmeal a try.
