I cannot even believe that we’re here! 1000 tips on living frugally and saving money! I have learned so much running this series and I’ll be honest, it was a lot more work than I anticipated! After many hours of researching, (about 42 total hours!) it was totally worth it! I know that every little thing that I do to save my family money makes a difference and brings us closer to our goal of being debt free by December 2010!
Even more, it brings me joy to know that I can glorify God through my stewardship!
Today will again be a mish mash of frugal living and savings tips! If you’ve missed the previous 9 Days, click on the link below.
Thank you to fierybydesign for the comment about the links on 1000 ways to save! Apparently, they don’t all work! I’ve gone through and refreshed the links, and they still do not work. I’ve heard from other WordPress bloggers that this happens a lot. So, please use the categories link on the right to access all the days from the series if you are still interested in reading all the tips. In the mean time, I’m going to keep working on this until I figure it out.
First and Foremost…
901. Are you being financially lazy? The one thing I hear a lot from friends/family who do not choose to live frugally is that they just don’t have the time. I understand that, definitely. I’ve been there. I don’t expect anyone to do all the tips I’ve shared. But I do know that it’s easier to make food from a box than from scratch. I know it’s easier to keep watching cable tv than canceling cable. It’s hard work clipping those coupons, it can be kind of embarrassing using coupons, and yes, I also hate asking for discounts! I know I can’t be lazy when it comes to my family’s financial situation.
I love the wisdom Proverbs 6:10 gives us. “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest– and poverty will come over you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.” When we get lazy, poverty comes and takes from us like a bandit– suddenly and with no remorse. Scarcity– the lack of what we need– will come to us like a man with weapons. Frightening and powerful, with the ability to do cause major harm and possibly even take our lives!
Examine your heart when it comes issues of laziness. Better yet, ask the Lord to examine your heart and to show you where in your life you may need to increase discipline. Even King David, the man after God’s own heart, asked God to search his heart. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Ps. 139:23-24
I know I too need that reminder!
902. Easy expense tracking. I posted earlier in the series about the Mvelopes system at crown.org. Its a great system, but if you’re not comfortable paying for an expense tracking system, there is an easy way to do it. Have a place in your home where receipts live. We have a little container in the kitchen where we put receipts when we come home each week. About once every 1-2 weeks, I record every receipt in a spiral notebook. If you set up a place for receipts to live, a basket, a drawer, a box, an envelope pinned to a bulletin board, a file in the cabinet, then you have a way to access all the money that was spent that week. Double check your spending track with your online banking account, and you have a great way of tracking your spending! And guess what! All it takes is self-discipline!
The key to finding a place for your receipts is that only receipts can live there– nothing else! So junk drawers are not a good place. Only receipts can go in this spot in your house.
General household savings tips…
903. $5 Dinners for a family of four! This site is a wonderful resource for frugal dinner menus! I like it because it breaks down the math of how much it costs to make each meal! So if it costs $5 for a family of four, Nate and I should only be spending $2.50 per meal! Wow! I need to start doing the math to double check that! Click HERE to check out 5dollardinners.com.
904. Get ready for winter checklist. I love this idea! Homemaker Barbie wrote a post on 99 things to do to get your family and home ready for winter. We turned on the heat for about 3 minutes today to warm up or freezing cold office while we worked and it hit me– winter is almost here! Here is my little list:
1. Take winter clothing that we’re no longer using to the consignment store.
2. Clean off the heater vents for efficiency.
3. Put a work order in for the weather stripping to be repaired on our front door.
4. Step it up with my Christmas cards and gifts I’m making!
5. Find some bargains on winter clothes for hubbie.
6. Cover vent above stove with a towel to keep the drafts out.
Click HERE to read home maker Barbie’s list!
905. Here’s a tip from my hubbie! Thinking of replacing your laptop? Buy a refurbished Mac. Mac’s resell value is higher than pc laptops, but also, refurbished will save you around $200! Some people are just die hard PC fans, but it may be worth it to switch. Do some research before you buy and see if buying refurbished will save you money!
906. Free Cappuccino At Barnes and Noble=Cheap Date night! Heather at Freebies for Mom has the skinny on the free drink coupon HERE! You could go with your hubbie, sit with a favorite magazine or book and chat for awhile. Nice, sweet, free!
907.Got a change jar? Turn it into Amazon gift cards! Keeping a change jar is a common money saving tip. Take that one step further. Take your change to coinstar, and be amazed as that change turns into amazon gift cards! Coinstar waves the fee when you use this service!
908. Sunglasses case. Keep your sun glasses in some sort of case. This will keep the lenses from getting scratched up. Of course this tip applies to regular glasses as well. You can get cases at the Dollar Tree. This tip will serve you well. I buy my sunglasses at Target. They cost from $15-20. Every summer, if I have to replace them due to damage, that’ll add up quickly! $1 in prevention will save me in the long run.
909. Repurpose cd cases! With MP3 music quickly becoming our main source of music, the cd is becoming obsolete. If you have spare cases lying around, turn them into easy bookends! Flip them into L shape by bending the cover backwards. Super glue it into that L shape, let dry, and use like a regular book end!
910. Need reflectors for your bike or late night jogging/walking clothes? Cut up your old cds! This is brilliant!
911. Teachers, don’t spend money on those cutesy hall passes! Use cds! Kids lose them all the time anyway, so why spend $3 a pop? Tie a bit of yarn around a cd, write your name and rm. number in permanent marker on the cd and walah! Instant hall/bathroom pass!
912. Gardeners! Old cds work great to scare away birds from your growing plants! I’ve read info that if posted a few inches from the ground, rabbits will be scared away too.
913. Boyscouts and backpackers! Don’t buy those espensive signaling devices! Old cds work great and are easy to hold!
914. Got a radiator? Venting air from your radiator will make it more efficient!
915. What kind of dryer duct do you have? Metal ducts are supposed to be more efficient. Also, the route of your duct is important. The shorter the rout to outdoors, the better.
916. Buying produce by the pound? Choose pieces that are smaller. You will save a few pennies and you won’t notice that you’re piece of fruit is smaller while you are snacking.
917. Winter fridge for areas that get snow. In the winter, put your items that need to stay cold out on the porch! We did this growing up. All stockpile items for holidays lived on the porch! We put them in a milk crate. I’ve heard stories from people in the midwest that turn off their regular fridge completely!
918. Savings tip from my friends at Old Navy! I was shopping the clearance racks at Old Navy for my hubbie earlier this week, ($4.99 for t-shirts!) and I stumbled upon a great savings tip in the little girls section! Old Navy had taken a clearance tank top, ($2.99!) and layered it over a thermal long sleeve tee! It was adorable! They were showing us how we could get a great look for very little money! They showed us how to extend the wearing life of our favorite summer tanks! I was surprised by that. The paired it with a cute skirt, also on clearance for $7.99 and some cute boots! Great winter/fall outfit pieced together from summer clearance! Try and see if you can do the same this season!
919. Another snow tip! (Sorry, I’ve got winter on the brain!) If you are desperate to get that water bill down, consider boiling snow for water! A lot of people do this camping! Boiling kills off the unwanted things in the water. My grandmother also did this at her cabin in the winter. This would be especially energy efficient if you had a wood stove and weren’t using electricity. (Hopefully you have access to affordable firewood.)
920. Saving baby clothes to pass down to your children when they become parents. My mom did this, and I just hope and pray I have a little girl someday! She kept about 10 outfits; ones that held special memories for her. My first Christmas, my baptism, my cute little pink sweatsuit! I used to pull them out of storage and just look at them over and over as a little girl. There’s something special about it that makes you feel like you’re taking a part of your childhood with you. Its very frugal! Your children will have 10 very special outfits to use on their little one! But more importantly, its meaningful.
921. Low on dress socks ladies? Shoes a little big? For either of these reasons, raid your hubbies sock drawer! I wear Nathan’s dress socks when I’m low. I have to pull them up higher than he does, but it totally works! I also use his socks when I wear a pair of shoes that are a bit big. His socks fill up the shoe better and prevent me from getting blisters. Sock sharing keeps me from having to buy more socks, but more importantly, keeps me from having to laundry just for socks.
922. Use single earrings as unique tacks on your bulletin boards!
923. Got a couple little ones that could use necklaces for special occasions/gifts? Take one of your necklaces and make it into two necklaces! This works for necklaces that are made with beads. Use inexpensive elastic string. ($1.35 at JoAnns.) Elastic keeps you from having to use fasteners.
924. Make your own hammock! Fun for those lazy afternoons! Click HERE for all you need to know!
925. Do you buy heavy duty paper towels? I usually buy inexpensive types and toss them. I watched a video clip online that showed a young man rinsing his paper towels and hanging them to dry over a mini-clothes line above his sink! It was very resourceful of him! Its like the whole Ziplock thing. If you’re going to put the time into reusing, you need to purchase a product that can withstand multiple usings. It may be worth investing in a more expensive paper towel if you can reuse it 3-4 times before tossing.
926. Keep a knife by the butter dish! This seems like a no brainer, but I am posting this tip as a pet peeve inspired tip! If you don’t have a butter knife in or by your butter dish, a new knife will be pulled out of the drawer anytime someone wants to butter their toast! That’s wasteful! You shouldn’t be washing all those knives!
927. Frugal bed raisers! I was reading one of my free home decorating magazines, (courtesy of adperk!) and I read a statistic about the millions of dollars that Americans spend on storage spaces every year. First off, if you’re spending money on storage. Purge. You need to purge. You should not be paying money to keep stuff you are not using. Have a yard sale. On the other hand, I’ve lived in a shoebox, one bedroom apartment before! One thing I learned, under the bed is magic. You must take advantage of it! I looked up how much it costs to purchase a set of bed raisers from Bed Bath and Beyond– $24.99. Want a frugal alternative? Cinder blocks or bricks. Whatever you already have. You could also use 2 by 4 scraps. You will be amazed by the space you find!
928. Free calendars! Now is the time of year when people start thinking about purchasing calendars and planners. I found a great site with free calendar printables! This year, stick with the home printed calendar and save some money for 2009. Click HERE to access the calendars.
929. Got static cling? Spray your legs with hair spray!
930. Got frizzy hair? Frugal quick fix: Hand lotion!
931. Save money on pets! Avoid buying food from your vet as it will always be more expensive there.
932. Make a dog sweater out of a sleeve of your old sweater or sweatshirt! Just cut the holes where needed.
933. Skip the dog/cat toys. My parent’s recently got a little puppy and we got him all kinds of toys! Guess what he ended up playing with the most? Walnuts he found on the ground, sticks, and my sister’s stuffed bunny. Yup. All stuff we already had. You probably have tons of stuff in your home already your dog/cat would love!
934. Skip the puppy pads. Newspaper works just fine when training fido.
935. Make your own all natural cat litter! Purchase a bag of pine pellets at your local feed store! Pellets, not shavings. Pine absorbs odor and “clumps” the yuckies just like a commercial product. It is cheaper than buying litter from the store! Plus– you get it in major quantities.
936. A baby food tip from my reader Carolyn! Carolyn suggests using wholesomebabyfood.com. I checked it out and it is a great resource for recipes, tips, and suggestions for storage of your food as well! Check it out!
937. Frugal Pond tip from my reader Jennifer! She says that if you have a pond, use your rain barrel to fill it back up if need be! Resourceful!
938. Use the hood from an old sweatshirt to place over a broom for a high/ceiling/corner duster!
939. Just for fun… one more pet tip. Make a blankie for your pet out of hubbie’s old sweatshirt! I loved this tutorial I found! This would also work for little doll blankies for little girls! Click HERE for more.
940. Remove Permanent Marker from your wall by rubbing toothpaste on it!
941. Got discolored tennis shoes that were once white? Before you replace them, try spraying them with lemon juice and then placing them in the sun to dry.
942. Use lemon juice as a laundry booster instead of bleach! It smells amazing and is non-toxic.
943. Use this recipe as a natural furniture polish! One part lemon juice to two parts olive oil!
944. Reuse cereal bag liners to cover food as you cook it in the microwave! This will save a paper towel and save mess too!
945. A simple way to save on green onions. My mom uses green onion a lot in her cooking. I may have to suggest this to her. I found a great tutorial that shows you how to take a green onion from the store and replant the part you don’t use to grow your own. Click HERE for more.
946. Have corns or callouses on your feet? Don’t pay a professional. All you need is a tub, water kosher salt, baking soda, and a pumice stone. (I saw some at the Dollar Tree! They also have some at Wal-Mart!) You soak your feet and then use the pumice stone to remove problem areas. Click HERE for detailed instructions.
Simple projects that reuse things in your home…
947. Reuse cooking oil to make an emergency lamp! I love this idea as I always feel bad about throwing mine out! The how-to is pretty easy to follow. Go HERE to check it out!
948. Carpet samples, remnants, or unused areas of carpet– coasters! Great idea!
949. Repurpose old sweaters! As we are all pulling out our winter garb, there are likely to be a few in the box that no longer fit, or the style is out dated. No worries! You can make a beautiful blanket out of them! (Plus, I’ve already mentioned a TON of other things you can do with them in previous tips!
) You’ve got to see how pretty this blanket looks when finished. Click HERE for more.
950. Use those magazines! Make a bowl! From the tutorial I found, this may be a bit labor intensive. If you are taking the craft supply challenge and not buying anymore craft supplies for 31 days, this may be a great project if you run out of things to do!
I’m not going to buy anymore supplies, except adhesives, until the end of 2008. That way, I will use what I already have! I mentioned this on an earlier tip. Projects like this that take magazines and glue are great because the use very little supplies and come out really cool looking. Click HERE for the tutorial. P.S. This would make a fun gift!
951. Reuse coffee cans! I found a TON of ideas here at this site. Instead of repeating them, you should just go check it out. My favorite is the snowman in a can idea!
952. Can’t part with your little one’s baby outfits? Maybe they’re stained and you don’t want to toss them out? Make a blanket out of them! This idea is just darling! I love it! This would make a fantastic gift!! I looked at these pictures and thought that you could also just go to a garage sale and buy clothes to make one if you’re making one for a new mom! (I’m seriously considering picking up sewing after all these fantastic sewing tips!) Click HERE for pictures and details!
953. Another magazine tip! You could use an old calendar too! Use magazines or old calendars to make your own envelopes. Its pretty simple, all you need is a piece of magazine or calendar, glue, and a regular envelope for a template. Click HERE for details and pictures.
954. 35 ways to make reusable grocery bags! By the way, some grocery stores give a discount for using reusable bags! Once I found THIS POST, I knew for sure I’m picking up sewing. I already have a sewing machine, I just left it at my parent’s house because I never use it! I’m using it from here on out! Click HERE for the information on grocery bags!
955. Another fish bowl tip! This time, for Halloween! Make pumpkin luminaries for Halloween! You’ll need a fish bowl, yellow tissue paper, orange tissue paper, modge podge, and that’s it! This turns out so stinkin’ cute! Click HERE for more!
956. Fuse your plastic bags together to make a lining or fabric for projects! This is a fantastic idea! All you need is bags, an iron, and parchment paper! Click HERE for the how-to!
957. Unravel sweaters to recycle their yarn! I met a lady at work who does this. She buys sweaters at garage sales for $.25-.50 each, unravels them, reuses the yarn and makes beautiful things! She then sells the stuff she makes on Etsy and makes good money! Click HERE for a fabulous how-to. I’m thinking reusing a sweater is better than spending money on yarn!
958. Make a really cute paper rose from a small square of scrap paper! Click HERE for the the how-to. Great gift for anniversary, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and any other time as well!
959. Reuse card board boxes to make stylish organizers for the office! I showed an idea previously where you use a cereal box to create a cute paper organizer. This is more heavy duty in my opinion. The how-to I found is very detailed and helpful. Click HERE to read the how-to.
960. Got old flannel lying around somewhere? Make your own reusable kleenex! I love this idea. Though I usually use kleenex on a roll if you catch my drift. My grandma called these hankies. Click HERE for a how-to and pictures.
961. Frugal storage shelf made out of rain gutters! believe it or not, teachers at my school do this to display books in the class library! Just screw gutters to the wall, prop whatever needs to be stored up against the wall, walah! It works well!
Holiday savings tips…
961. Got those fancy/shiney cereal bag liners? Use them as gift bags! Tied off with a little red and green ribbon, it’d look super cute!
962. Chippin’ in! I’ve mentioned before that you are probably not the only one financially hurting this holiday. Call up your siblings, and see if they will all chip in $5-10 for a gift for your parents this year. It’ll save you all money.
963. Go on a pine cone hunt! A bag of pinecones costs $5-10 at the store! Why not go to the back yard or the park and pick some up yourself? Use a little essential oil on them to give them scent if you so desire. Or mix in some dried citrus peels. Mmm… nice!
964. Operation Christmas Child. A simple way to give and celebrate the true joy of the holiday. Operation Christmas Child sends shoe boxes filled with Christmas goodies to children in third world countries. You fill a shoe box with goodies for a child, they deliver. I believe there is a small fee for shipping. This could be a family project! One year when I was in high school, my girlfriends and I chipped in and filled one up together. This is also a great way to use freebies you’ve been getting all year long! Click HERE to go to the website.
965. Reuse a TP or paper towel tube as a clever gift wrap! Fill the inside with Christmas candy, cover it in tissue paper, tie off the ends with Christmas ribbons, add a homemade gift tag, you’ve got an adorable old fashioned looking piece of candy filled with candy!
966. Don’t waste wrapping on huge Christmas gifts– have a scavenger hunt instead! Put the first card of the scavenger hunt inside a box for them to open, and at the end of the hunt, have the gift inside a closet or in the garage. Works well and saves wrapping and time! My parents did this the year they gave me a bike and I balled my eyes out! I was 9 I think.
967.Make your own stockings! I was thinking about this tip, and there truly are several ways to go about this. I mentioned before that my mom crocheted ours as kids. My sister and I made some once out of fleece remnants for our significant others back in high school. I was thinking about the plethera of scrafs I have in the hall closet and how I could reuse one or tow of those to make a couple really cute stockings! I found a site with 8 different patterns to choose from! Click HERE for more.
968. Make a “Funny Things You Say” book! I love this idea and read about it in abook by Cathy Zielske, simple scrapbooker extraordinaire! She writes down the silly things her son says, and then puts a picture next to the quote. When he is an adult, this will be priceless! I was thinking it would be a cute gift for a grandparent as well!
969. Another cute way/frugal way to gift wrap candy! Cut the top off a ziplock bag, insert candy. Make it fun with bits of curled ribbon added to the inside. Tie it off with matching ribbon, add homemade gift tag, and you’ve got a super cute wrapped gift!
970. Pulled out the Christmas decor and the ribbons are looking shabby? You can iron them to give tham that new again feel! I use a low setting and sometimes put a damp cloth between the iron and the ribbon.
971. Get a free giftwrapping e-book and possibly more! iMommies.com has got the scoop on what sounds like a hilarious contest! If you enter, you get a free e-book on gift wrapping! Click HERE for more.
972. Extend the life of your Christmas lights! Store them wrapped around a capital “I” shaped piece of sturdy cardboard! The better they are kept, the longer they will last.
973. Run out of ornament hooks? Use paper clips!
974. Some of the crocheted ornaments looking shabby as well? Perk them up with a few sprays of hair spray! We have homemade snowflakes my grandma made, I’m going to try this!
975. Got metal cookie cutters? They make adorable ornaments!
976. Another idea for last year’s Christmas Cards! Tape or sticky tack them to the wall in the shape of a tree!
977. Send thank you e-mails and attach pictures of the gift being used or opened by the receiver! This depends on the person of course, but may be cheaper than mailing a thank you card!
978. Throwing a party! Here are a few inexpensive game ideas!
*Have a Christmas Carol sing off! Break into two teams. Each team takes turns singing a line to a Christmas carol. You have 30 seconds-minute to think of one before time is up. Go back and forth until one team can’t think of one! It is so fun!
*Give a Christmas trivia quiz! I found a sample HERE!
*Christmas goody guessing game. Have a short description of different goodies. Have guests try to guess what each kind is.
*Famous Christmas pairs game. Write the names of each pair on the back of an index card and tape them to the backs of your guests. Your guests have to then figure out who they are and then find their pair. They can only ask yes or no questions. Examples: Mary and Joseph, Santa and Mrs. Claus, For White Christmas fans– Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kay and Vera Ellen! Christmas movies are a great source for ideas.
979. Sticking with a real tree this year? Once your down with it, grind it into wood chips or mulch for your garden! Keep it out of the landfills!
980. Not going to see your family until after the holiday? Shop the after Christmas sales and save big time!
Concerning decorating your home…
981. Painting a room? Before you go to the paint store, send out e-mails or call your family and friends. Do any of them have leftover paint just laying around the house? You can’t just dump out paint for safety reasons, so why not take their leftovers? If the room you are painting is small enough great! You could also paint an accent wall this way. If you’re brave, mix a bunch of colors together to make your own unique color!
982. Make your own wallpaper remover! Use equal parts white vinegar and water. It’s stinky, so open a window! Let the mixture soak in for a bit before going at it.
983. Get a leather effect on your furniture for pennies! Take plain brown paper or even better, reuse brown paper lunch sacks! Crinkle them up, then flatten them out. Modge Podge them to your surface, and then use a varnish or stain over the paper once the modge podge dries. It looks real when your done! I saw this down a dresser on a decorating show on HGTV!
984. Make curtain tie backs from old spoons! Bend the spoon back so it forms a u-shape. Screw the handle side to the wall! Cute for a kitchen or play room!
985. Dried Lavender. Growing and drying your own lavender is super frugal! Dried lavender looks lovely tied in bunches or inside a vase. It also works well used inside a homemade heating pad! You can make sachets from dried lavender as well!
986. Decorating your home is a process. I think that the home decorating shows give us regular folk the impression that rooms should be redone all at once! That’s not true. Home decorating is a constantly evolving process. We lived in our apartment for almost 7 months before we decorated it. We were waiting for deals to purchase what we needed. I feel like the Lord blessed that and gave us what we needed to put together a lovely/very us home office!
987. Bookshelf update! Remove the backing, paint the piece with a couple of layers of latex paint and reattach! Click HERE for a photo of the finished product.
More general savings tips…
988. Use laundry detergent to wash your car! Its gentle and effective!
989. Budget building resources and tools! I found THIS POST at mysuperchargedlife.com and they have put together a list of 79+ budget resources, tips, and tools. Its fantastic! Check it out!
990. Skip buying lean ground beef! Its way more expensive! I found a how-to at hillybillyhousewife.com that shows you how to get the fat out of regular beef. Click HERE for the how-to.
991. Kids bowl free program for the summer! I realize summer is over, but this may be something you may want to hold on to for next year! Go to the website HERE for more!
992. Got smelly plastic containers? Before you replace them, read this! Use a baking soda paste of baking soda and vinegar. Let it sit out overnight or dry near a sunny window.
993. Hit the stores before 9am! Most stores make their markdowns early in the morning! Look for the best mark downs in the meat section.
994. Learn from George Mueller. If you are unfamiliar with George Mueller, he was an amazing man who lived solely on the provision from God. He opened orphanages and churches with out a paycheck. His story is amazing and is centered around his faith in God as his provider and on prayer. Check his biography out at your local library!
995. Consider becoming a mystery shopper! Read Crystal’s thoughts about it HERE. You can get free stuff including clothes, food, and meals out!
996. Lost something? Pray about it! Pray that the Lord would help you to find it! Ask others to pray for you as well! Wait at least two weeks before replacing. You never know when you may find it. There is a parable in the Bible about a woman who looses a coin! (Luke15:8-10) Her friends rejoice with her when she finds it!
997. Make a list of what you are already doing! With this hefty list, I myself have even battled discouragement. There is just no way that I am saving my family all the money that I possibly could be! If we let ourselves slip into that “to-do list” mentality, we will fall and we will burn out! We need to remember what this is about, who this is about! If it helps you, make a list of what you already did so far this week to save your family money. You will be amazed!
998. A good way to use the 1000 ways to save series! Some of my readers have told me that they are printing off the lists, and then highlighting the posts they are going to try. Others are copying and pasting into a word document. Great! that’s fantastic! Try a frugal challenge once a week. Implement one of the tips you enjoyed each week. Maybe every other week if that works better for you!
999. Simple living. I read this guest post on moneysavingmom.com and was brought to tears. It touched me. I’ve written before about my experiences in another country and how they changed the way I view my life. You must read this post! It will inspire you to simplify your life in new ways. It is a soul searching post! Click HERE to read it! I felt like this was an appropriate way to draw to the close of the 1000 ways to save series.
1000!!!!!!!!! For my final tip, I’d like to close with this verse.
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yeild no food; Though the flock be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls– Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will Joy in the God of my salvation! Hab. 3:17-18.
Thank you Jesus for all that you’ve taught me through this series! Thank you for providing for Nathan and I. Thank you that you are using my passion for living frugally to help and inspire others. Father may the readers of this series be spurred on to better stewardship, but even more, may they be spurred on to live for you and develope a personal relationship with you. May your light shine through the words on this blog!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen!!

I really love the lists you’ve created…thank you! The only problem is some of your links go nowhere. Well in fact most of the days have nothing when you go to them. Did you move them by chance? Just wanting to see the rest of your hard work.

It is an honor to be included in the list (#947)! Thanks for the compilation. I’m sure a lot will benefit from your hard work!

Thanks for including me on your list! I just found your blog and really like it. We too are debt free, and we love it!
